The problem is the average middle class person loses trust in Abbott and the arguement against the carbon tax when idealogues and rallies start popping up . It?s politics as usual but neither side has a backup policy and neither sides backbenchers support the direction of their parties.
We look at the policy and we only see broad statements that everything will be stopped and they'll have a direct action plan that most experts have said is even worse. It?s a fake policy obviously but the coalition needs to come up with something eventually. Everyone is cooling off about boats, the mining tax is a piss in the bucket so Abbott only has a carbon tax left to fight.
People want change from the current situation since neither party inspires anyone. We look at labor and see no one with real ability to lead the country in the near future. Over on the liberal side most people only see Turnbull, Abbott is just the minority right which we allow so they can damage labor but we don't want them to rule the country long term.
The carbon tax is not extraordinary to the average family but we've lost faith that under labor's leadership any progressive economic development will be made. Under Abbott liberal policy has only been rejecting what labor says/does.
We just want a good government and for the last 2 years there seems to have been no hope of that from anywhere. We know Turnbull disappointed when he was leader but he represents the pragmatic liberalism most people believe in.
