That's a lesson I've learn't the hard way don't take director's, CEO's, CFO's word when their talking to the media or being quoted it's all spin and they tend to embelish the truth. If it's an ASX announcement it's supposed to be the truth but even ASX announcements are losing their worth just look at the past announcements of AAM.
Something really needs to be done about enforcing the content of ASX announcements, if you can't take them as being the truth then you can't made investment decisions.
