Yes, there certainly comes a time during cycles when people capitulate in such a way that instead of selling they simply accept 'theres no point in letting go now'.
Where the cost of recognizing the loss and preventing further downside becomes outweighed by the possibility of some future return of capital/profit, no matter the time taken.
Thats why markets are forever in a sort of perma-bull, there are prices at which people just simply wont sell for in bad times, but in good times people are willing to forever pay higher prices.
Of course sometimes there are outright losers that never return your money and just cost you the price of cash, but there definately comes a time when 'sell' mentality becomes 'hold'.
But now is not that time for such dreary thoughts! World coming to an end?? Copper rising today at $4.4/lb would say otherwhise!
