yep gassed I agree.
i still think these well results from Holfast represent a STEP-CHANGE for shale gas industry in Aust.
i am very long on CSG.
but i think shale is a new dimension in Aust.
the C/B shale gas situation is different (in a positive manner).
- its in the middle of nowhere
- no real landowner issues
- already producing gas and oil!
- major infrastructure in place
- port in SA (Port Bonython) seems to be a likely point of export for LNG
- SA Govt very keen
- ready market for export LNG
- fraccing process seems to be an issue, but will be overcome in US, thus also Aust.
- BPT has proved C/B shale gas flows prolifically, and WILL be commercial
- its a HUGE resource - world class
- SIZE of resource is such as to be of attraction to majors
- the development of this resource will require a huge amount of capital, initially, and it seems on an ongoing basis.
- BECAUSE of these factors, I think that the development of these C/B shale gas resources will happen in a far SHORTER TIME FRAME than the CSG resources in Qld.
and thats why I think there will be a consolidation of the Nappa Trough shale resources prior to dev't.
just my humble opinion.
there is such big money at stake coming up.
cheers
