    1. "I'm a little surprised you tried to substantiate your argument"

just producing facts - not trying to substantiate anyting.

    2. Your 'facts', even if taken at face value, concede that global price is not that relevant thus killing your argument....and be honest, you learnt a little in your research, right?"

no wrong. read the last anual report and and the recent presntation 10 pecent export is a "target so the global price for salmon and particularly when converted to $A is relevant

further i have been aware of this stock over a number of years and even held stock, so i am no stranger to the tgr

    3. "Just a little more discussion on the issue. I understand management sees export as like a 'safety valve' for excess inventory...hence the flexibility of 10% but its best to supply the local market as far as margins.

3.no wrong. read the last anual report and and the recent presentation 10 pecent export is a "target" not a "safety valve"

    4. "Apparently, Tasmanian salmon is viewed as pure by the Japanese fish lovers...and it is expecially compared to most other places"

thats a good one where did you get that from ?.

    5. " You are correct about value added products....unfortunately some of the smoked salmon, for example, is allowed into the country to compete head to head...Yes, its a bummer....you may note that 'Ocean Blue' is rather agressively pushing Non Australian stock in a Woolworths near you...Still, Tassal's suite of brands is holding relatively well in that small segment....I'm looking forward to seeing the earnings presentations cause I suspect Ocean Blue is killling just a little, unfortunately"

    you agree

    6. "Ultimately, this is about EPS growth, even with the stock selling on a "tiny valuation"......"I don't read the 'experts' predictions" and I'd be surprised they predict flat "EPS...but if that is the level of your research", I don't think you should buy this stock"....

"tiny vauation". the stock is currently trading at a forward pe.ratio of 9.2. which is slightly higher than the av. pe over the last 2 yrs. of 8.75 - thats not a "tiny valuation" as you put it

    "you dont read experts opinions"

    maybe you should.

comparing previous eps and fcast eps. is probly one of the most basic steps in assessing a company so thats not bad for starters. you indicate that you are not aware of these figures, what sought of reseach do you do then".??

the eps.figures i provided were from a consensis of 4 analysts on the comsec site. not made up by myself so be suprised.

rainmaker, you also use the qualifiers of "i undertand" and "apparrently". - in other words you dont really know if what you have said is fact.

rainmaker, tell me, have you bouht at a higher price than the current mp. and are now just trying to justify your original purchase.

the above may help you. i hope it does

    gk.
