It makes sense to keep selling/shorting a stock until the bad news is out. After the bad news is out, common practice is to close the short or buy stock. Myer have stood by their earnings estimate so one batch of bad news is already out. Is the market expecting another shock? Because the market has already taken off close to 30 cents following the DJS downgrade. What could the next shock be? Dividend cut? Doubtful.
I think a change in interest rate policy by the Reserve bank could give this a big kicker.
