Sensational find in India, researchers have discovered a huge uranium reserves, it could be the largest in the world. Nevertheless, the amount ranges from probably not enough to supply all the nuclear power plants in the country - the energy demand of the booming economy is simply too great.
Srikumar Banerjee, chief of the Indian Atomic Energy Authority, speaks of 49,000 tons, which is to supply the mine safely. Originally, scientists had assumed only 15,000 tons. New research suggests could even suggest that the soil store up to 150,000 tons. "Then it would be the largest uranium mine in the world," Banerjee in the "Times of India" is quoted.
