re: Ann: Open Briefing - MD on Strategic Deve... "The announcement gave no timetable at all for the completion of the FMG "advanced negotiations". Can you actually be in "advanced negotiations" indefinitely?"

The old chestnut of what is meant by advanced. Without a definition that says 'terms of the agreement agreed to by both parties and to be ratified within x weeks', then it's left up to each individual's interpretation.

You will recall late last year/early this year that statements from FMG about the stage of rail negotiations with BRM were significantly at odds with those of BRM management.
Didn't WR say at the closing of WNI's offer that they could now move to finalise a deal?

This whole saga may drag on for months, but at some stage there will need to be pressure put on BRM management to explain what they mean by advanced and why it can't move to finalised.

Fortunately I sold some and now free carried so I don't have an immediate need for the SP to rise significantly. I'd like something sorted by the end of December because if it goes beyond that date, then it really starts raising questions about BRM management's ability to negotiate deals.
