    Hi Mollybendium,

Let me briefly summarise my first year investing (commencing Sept 2010)

Took out $150K from homeloan - 3 years salary for me. Then spread it around on a few shares but got caught up on hype of ARV, LEG and SEH getting caught out near the top - Oct / Nov. Lost out quite a bit as they soon crashed.

Dec 2010 I started investing in 3 shares - AYN, CQT and QRN. Three QLD shares and when Jan came, so did the QL floods and my shares fell. Not sure how affected my shares would be from the floods so I cashed out what I could making a loss.

After this I reinvested. So early Feb 2010 I put one third into ETH - not long before it was suspended. And invested some into PEN and MNM - two shares exposed to uranium.

Then March was the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan and both my uranium shares crashed badly, and at this time my other money was locked into ETH, so again I had to get out with massive losses as I wasn't sure how long the affects would last. Was surprised to see how quickly the shares rebounded but by the time I got back onto them, they crashed again due to more news coming out about nuclear problems in Japan. So again I lost again.

Then with little left I reinvested into MNM and then it fell down again but this time I just sat and waited while all the gold / silver shares were rising. April I went overseas and the only one day I had no wifi access was the one day MNM rose to purchase price and missed out on selling it.

After my trip to Europe, MNM was still not doing anything so I took some out and invested into NAV - a mid tier gold production company. Then this company brought out Capital Raising news and crashed badly so again I lost the little that I had left.

Now with a much reduced capital left, I am sitting on MNM and praying for ETH to come back as this year was just all bad luck.
