thats right Noellyn - and thats STO dilema.
1. share hOlDings
(a) Distribution of shareholders as at 3 september 2010
Size of Holiding Number of Holders Ordinary Shares Held %
1 − 1,000 1,040
1,001 − 5,000 3,566
5,001 − 10,000 2,685
10,001 − 100,000 5,040
100,001 − over 693
13,024
so those noisy s/h holding parcels of 10,000 shares or less, represent 7,291 votes of the total possible 13,024 votes.
so whats that - maybe 55% ? (no calculator handy)
but a couple of comments:
- many of these on market trades will be some of these smaller s/h getting out - so influence will diminish,
- importantly, the voting results are based on THOSE WHO VOTE at the meeting (in person or by proxy) - and thats important, because typically it is way way low. And thats what STO will be counting on for sure.
interesting times coming up
cheers
