I am a good person ie I am good to my fellow man and I don't throw cats into wheelie bins but I don't believe in god. I wonder if god will go easy on me?

Shirley the fact that people of different races and places having differing gods is a dead give away. Just like different languages, customs, etc, religion is a human construct to either control or placate people. And because people in the olden days lived in isolation, they didn't take the time to decide on one consistent god.

We humans require a burden of proof in most things we do or believe in e.g. Tony Abbott requires science to support carbon reduction measures.... Yet no similar burden of proof is required for the god that we cannot see, feel, smell or hear. A god that does not intervene in ghastly human events.... Conveniently explained away as 'god moves in mysterious ways' etc.
