Yeah a lot of similarities, but also realise the time frame is different between the 2 charts, i.e. the current pattern is unfolding 3 times the speed. The dow pattern bottomed in 1942, whereas the war finished 3 years later. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from what I can gather are currently being wound down, and hence could be a good fit. Perhaps today decisions get made 3 times as fast as they did 70 years ago.
