Gifford shooting

My comments here were opinion that this was also political. Given the comments in the media, I put to you it would be hard to disagree with that opinion. The only fact in my comment was about Sarah Palin's crosshairs where she printed a pamphlet targeting Gifford's congressional seat. From the Murdoch media again.

"SHOT Democrat Gabrielle Giffords expressed her fears at being a "target" in rifle crosshairs on a map released by prominent Republican Sarah Palin before last year's mid-term US elections.

Conservative Palin urged voters to target liberals' seats. Ms Giffords said: "She depicted the crosshairs of a gunsight over our district. When people do that, they have to realise that there are consequences."

Ms Palin yesterday offered her "sincere condolences" to the families of Ms Giffords and the other victims.

There were reports last night that the map had been removed from some Palin websites."
