The reason that Bryant was so effective is that he had laser sights

The Australian government used this episode to ban guns but did not bother to ban laser sights!

As we have seen in Australia since the government banned guns we have had an explosion of gun related crime

If the government takes the responsibility of crime control they should do it, otherwise they will get constant suggestions to allow people to have guns

Anyone is allowed to drive a car but they must be tested and have police enforced requirements in their use and actions when they do so.

If the public had guns they would also have requirements to conform to and to suggest that if the public had guns it would have to be like the USA is ludicrous

There are many types of guns and the so called gun laws of the USA have nothing to do with self protection which is all that the normal person would require a gun for.
IMO if hand guns were permitted in Australia I doubt that there would be a very high proportion that would be willing to accept the responsibility to carry and use them

Indiscriminate killers like Bryant and the alleged killer in Norway Anders Behring Breivik are sick cowards who should loose all rights to be treated the same as the rest of the population
