You posted a comparison chart of the XJO and DJIA (Post: 6975364).

Then, (Post: 6975858) you note some differences:

"Yeah a lot of similarities, but also realise the time frame is different between the 2 charts, i.e. the current pattern is unfolding 3 times the speed. The dow pattern bottomed in 1942, whereas the war finished 3 years later. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from what I can gather are currently being wound down, and hence could be a good fit. Perhaps today decisions get made 3 times as fast as they did 70 years ago."

How can you compare the XJO to the DJIA? They are two different markets, and the charts you are comparing are from different time frames.

I ask this question as I had a similar question regarding two stocks (those posts have since been modded).

A comparison of two charts was pointed out as stupidity after I made a post.

I am no expert, but I believe the market moves in mysterious ways, in similar due to BOTS and technical analysis and us humans following the same method when buying and selling various stocks.

So, just to understand you view, or anyone else here in the XJO thread's view willing to answer..... Isn't comparing the XJO and DJIA plain stupid?

P.S. as mentioned above, I believe in comparisons, I am just interested in other peoples views.

    Thanks in advance
