    Kacy,
i assume u live in germany, given ur insight knowledge of the country.

Germany used to be a net export of energy, the surplus correlates roughly to the power generation of the nuclear plants which were shutdown recently.

The agency is just an entity which needs to follow the laws and the government. So it's not an god-like superagency, it's just some entity in germany. And yes we have lot's of lobbyist there which still believe they can revert the decision. Guys ... it's done ... no matter which utility or lobbyist says we will all die sicne there is no light anymore. The real issue is not if they need to keep alive one or two nuclear plants.. the issue is that you need to adapt the grid to the alternate sources which by defintion don't deliver the steady energy nuclear plants delivered in the past. Next to that there will be short term demand for new gas and coal plants which do not really contribute to the reduction of co2 emissions. But obviously choices were made. I agree to all what has been done in germany although I was a believer in nuclear energy for decades. Tschernobyl did not change my thinking but Fukushima did.

    Greeting from Bavaria,
