Hello Cat Lovers.

I have posted this information before-probably 12 months ago-but for those who aren't aware-Carbon Energy's(CNX) major shareholder(9.6%)is Incitec Pivot.
IPL are a major fertiliser/explosives producer in Q'land and as such have Ammonia producing facilities there,one of which is at Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.Ammonia is produced by using natural gas(methane) as both a fuel for heating and as a feed from which hydrogen is extracted both of which are contained as separate entities in UCG syngas.The main problem with traditional ammonia production is that for every tonne of ammonia produced a tonne of CO2 is emitted.
As recently as Dec last year a concept study was commissioned by these 2 companies that confirmed UCG to be a viable opportunity in ammonia production.
In my opinion this confirms that big business with a certain amount of political clout are and have been watching UCG for some time and hopefully are just waiting for the present political dust storm to die down.
