Title: Decision expected end of August

"The West Coast Regional Council (WCRC) says the hearing committee for the proposed Denniston Escarpment Mine aims to reach a decision at the end of next month.

However, WCRC consents and compliance manager Colin Dall said this could be extended with the agreement of Buller Coal Limited (BCL).

Mr Dall said BCLs right of reply was received late last Friday. The hearing committee had to close the hearing no more than 10 working days after the right of reply had been received.

Given the amount of information that required consideration, the committee was unlikely to formally close the hearing until late Friday, August 5.

Under the Resource Management Act, the committee then had a further 15 working days to release its decision on the BCL consent applications.

The committee was aiming to release its decision within the time frame, late Friday August 26."

Then its over to the DOC ... another 4 weeks ?
