Sorry about the late reply.
As my learned colleagues have said, the entitlement is based on the number of shares held on the Ex-date. Following that you can do as you please. So sometimes better to sell sooner, if you choose, rather than wait for those who sell after they have received their allocation. You might get a better price then.
