Prip - I'm still learning myself - and always remember what
Totterdell (who got me interested in the pitchforks) - (no longer on hot copper) told me.
He would slap me up the side of the head when I got it wrong - and when I started getting them right he said now all I needed was to practice a few hundred charts on stocks I didn't own. The charts forum is the place to do it.
I think I've done a few hundred pitchforks now - don't know if that gives me a blackbelt in wielding forks yet - the fork Sensei fell out with admin - a great loss.

I think it was Funkymonk who got me interested in VSA initially - Clicked on one of his posts and was full of mumbo jumbo (as Mitta calls it)- but I was interested in various styles of TA at the time - The pitchforks were good - but when it comes time to pulling the trigger its not so easy putting "faith" in a line on a chart.
Started reading "Master the Markets" - it made sense but sounded too conspiratorial at the time - and it required a bit of a paradigm shift - so I stopped reading it - but still kept reading Funky's posts - and then ran into Mitta's
posts and saw he had some funny looking software package with those silly stick things that didn't even have an opening price on them (though it took me a while to work out why they didn't look quite right).
Anyway - to make a long story longer - those two started making sense after a bit - they must have got cleverer as I was reading their stuff - and I went back to "Master the Markets" and read it properly and then it started making a lot of sense - not conspiratorial at all - just simple supply and demand and common sense.
And that helped me then when it came to pulling the trigger - no longer did I have to put blind faith in a line - but I could base a trade on simple logic (alongside trendlines/channels and pitchforks) - and even when it doesn't work out - you know WHY it didn't work out.
And we are very lucky that Mitta takes the time to help us out here and slaps us up the side of the head when we stuff it and takes a genuine interest in passing on his knowledge freely.
Thank you Sensei Mitta. So I'm still at white belt with the VSA stuff - trying to make my way to yellow belt and I probably have a few hundred more charts to practice before getting close to black belt.
