Where did the 250 Mt of DSO spring from.

What do you think VALE have been mining at one of their Brazilian mines since 1947? Itabirite is the answer.
Pellet feed and Concentrate which is higher grade than DSO is born from Itabirite in many cases.
A lot of iron ore coming out of Brazil is Itabirite.

A lot of RIO's West Pilbara iron ore is CID and Detrital iron ore.
What were RIO and Mitsubishi,Nucor and Shougang using to produce high grade Pig Iron in their Hismelt plant? Low grade and lower value iron ore is the answer.
