If you wish to carry on like politicians do when they act like 5 year olds then become a politician. They can operate under parliamentary priveledge, we as posters do not.
Posts aren't measured by quality but by comformance to guidelines.
The politics forum gets away with a bit more than most threads but at times it simply goes to far. Some posters simply use it as a playground to rile other posters deliberately. Some use it as a soap box. Whilst both maybe annoying to some posters only one breaches the guidelines.
Banter is all well and good however silly comments for comments sake does no one any good and simply fuels the 'get rid of politics forum' debate.
Mistys comment
"What is a "quality" post on political matters is in the eyes of the beholder. One's political preferences play a big part in that "assessment", in a subliminal way. "
is correct imo opinion and one of the reasons the thumbs were not seen to offer any value to the forum.
