if they are in discussions with several companies, maybe they dont want one to know what the other is discussing? Keeping details between themselves (FMS) and the company in question.
I'll compare it to a realestate agents tactics. I offer X amount for a propery, agent comes back and says, someone offered XX, can you go up a little..i go up a little... and then it becomes a blind auction. Hate that!
