Is the Oz dollar high or is it the $US, the euro and the pound that are tanking?
Many currencies are tied to the $US and falling for that reason. It's all relative.
Imagine the boost to the coffers in China if they decoupled the yuan and the inflation in all the countries like this one that now depend on their exports? They could double/triple their prices and we still couldn't make it here and compete.
Stagflation and selective inflation/deflation cpi figures are masking what is happening.
