Down Hole EM is a great tool.

It is expensive, and often a company will wait until all or most holes are completed so as to minimise the time and therefore cost of the crew being on the ground.

Having a DHEM sitting by the rig on standby is a horrrible waste of money.

DHEM does allow the company to "see" a radius around the hole in relation to the power of the unit being used. The more the power, the more you see. 50 to 100m radius is possible.

It also allows the company to see at depth, as a normal ground EM survey will not be able to see very deep if conductors such as black shales are around. Black shales tend to absorb the EM response, kinda like a sponge.

On a technical issue, you cant find a VMS if it isn't one. Neither a SMS too. I still reckon the copper in the area is structural controlled, hybrid sourced from deep doleritic intrusions interacting with sulphidic sediments in the basement pile. Isotope studies will prove the real story.
