hey Moosey, I was bored with Remastered so I changed it!

Totally respect your opinion. However, please consider the following.

I think the new 'Australia-United States Treaty on Defence Trade Cooperation' is very much about Australia buying US and not European in the future! Thales is not an Australia company. The Colt M4 can be manufactured in Australia, just like its being manufactured in Malaysia.

When it comes to political pressure, Colts local politicians probably trump the member for Bendigo. The US State Dept would probably have something to say on the matter also!

US politicians from the state of Connecticut:

Joe Lieberman, Democratic chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee.

Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, sits on the House Appropriations Committee.

John Larson is the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House

    Regarding Calibre:

The Colt CM901 multi-caliber battle carbine can be configured in any/every caliber between 7.62?51mm NATO (7.62mm NATO)/.308 Win. and 5.56?45mm NATO (5.56mm NATO)/.223 Rem., including 6.8 SPC (6.8?43mm SPC) and 6.5 Grendel.

The CM901 universal lower receiver will accept any/all legacy MILSPEC 5.56mm NATO AR rifle/carbine/SBR upper receivers already in the U.S. military inventory, including the, Colt M4/M4A1 Carbine 14.5″ AR carbine , M4 Commando 11.5″ AR SBR, MK18/CQBR (Close Quarters Battle Receiver) 10.3″ AR SBR, and M16A3/A4 20″ DGI rifle uppers. The CM901 lower will also accept the Colt LE6940 16″ monolithic upper and Colt LE6920 16″ M4/M4A1 Carbine-type uppers.

While the CM901 7.62mm upper receiver is a monolithic upper/rail format with a direct gas impingement (DGI) operating system, the CM901 can utilize just about any 5.56mm rifle/carbine/SBR operating system that Colt manufactures, including the Colt M4/M4A1 DGI system, Colt APC (Advanced Piston Carbine)articulating-link gas piston/op-rod (operating rod) system, Colt AHC (Advanced Hybrid Carbine) DGI/piston-driven hybrid system, and Colt ACC-M (Advanced Colt Carbine-Monolithic) monolithic DGI upper.

Regarding Gas Piston and the apparent weakness of the M4, according to Colts competitors.... It's not a reflection on Colt, its a reflection of the US Army purchasing dept!

Colt COO James R. Battaglini (US Marine Corps Maj. Gen., ret.):

?The gas piston system in the H&K 416 is not a new system. Rifles were being designed with these systems in the 1920?s. Colt proposed a piston operated weapon to the Army in the early 1960?s. Today Colt Defense has the ability and expertise to manufacture in great numbers piston system carbines of exceptional quality should the U.S. military services initiate a combat requirement for this type of weapon?

Unfortunately, fighting the Army for improvements is no easy task. Colt CEO William Keys, who is also a retired USMC General, explained out to Army Times that Colt has to build what the US Army asks for, to the Army?s exact specifications:

?If we have a change that we think would help the gun, we go to the Army? which is not an easy process, by the way. We spent 20 years trying to get [an extractor] spring changed. They just said ?well, this works good enough.?
