We have come a fair way since my call but we still have a long way to go. Good call on the top though :)
Australian banks in general are way over valued they hold an enormous amount of risk in a property crash, GFC , commodity crash scenario.
ANZ is reckeless with respect to risk, all their risk models never factor in the GFC2 type scenario we face. This will take a couple of years to play out and people at this stage will rally against any call that is so dire.
This disbelief will fade as people realize how overleveraged the Australian consumer is and how fragile things will get if a major global shock is experienced .
Fair value for ANZ is about $8 per share.
