I was actually quite encouraged by the article. Siemens just went.."huh?? Whats that got to do with us? We have an agreement with Lynas who are going to produce REE and thats it. They will supply us with REE and thats all. If they dont we will have retribution" ..Lynas would just proceed to past that on to the Malaysian Govt after meeting ALL of the requisite statutory criteria as set down by the Govt.
If it was to pass that any industry can be stopped after playing by the rules...yikes, a warning t to others thinking of coming to Malaysia to set up industry.
Lynas has not misrepresented any risk.

Failure to have Lynas produce would be dangerous for Malaysia's efforts at attracting industry and investment. There are now many options for this outside Malaysia.

The only risk is that there is a regime change....very unlikely.

After a while even zealots lose their attractiveness to people who cant eat rhetoric. They need investment. Things will be tough for many in Malaysia. Lynas will just make things a little less tough. Afterall REE are being used to "force" electronics industries to China. Malaysia has the golden opportunity to attract electronics related industries to its country.Stage 2 production will offer even more. But delaying Lynas will result in that window of opportunity closing.
The Govt knows this which is why Siemens is in the mix.
I believe that all this hoohah will just pass by as noise.
The power , economics and opportunity will steamroll unfounded opposition.

Sadly for FS this resistance per se and the attempt at political mileage now defines her. Expect her to go down screaming and thrashing claiming eventually personal attacks. She will marshall any support that could possibly validate her role. This whole process of resistance is now all about her.It has nothing to do with anyone/anything else..sad really that her emotional needs from this have started to take on a embryonic delusional twist.

The final extension of this invalidation of resistance to Lynas will be the ultimate defence to ego...violence.

I suspect in the next 6-12 mths attempts will be made to violently stop Lynas. The Malaysian Govt would already have measures in place. In fact they cant wait to reflect this on to the opposition.
