Economy is quite strong. Income growth, economic growth, high unemployment.
Problems some underlying inflation and unproductivity. Not severe.
Howard years we had a debt fuelled economy so hardly a good economy
So not sure why do some people think spending and getting into debt is a better economy than when people save? Saving now 10% compared to about nothing a few years ago.
Retail nothing to do with government, just a shift in consumer behaviour - capitalism at work. Demand and supply.
Mixed economy true, but people need to get skills that are required and forget sectors that are underperforming. Thousands of jobs in the mining sector are not filled. Government should not prop up ailing industry. If we believe thay should then we should have accepted the RSPT.
