At the moment the sell algo's on the major miners are fierce and swamping the buyside interest - that's plain for all to see. Who knows if its manipulation or what the reason is but it is certainly capping gold stocks at present.

What will be needed to ignite said gold stocks is a situation of rapidly appreciating dividends - Newmont is on the right track but we will need to see dividends increase 3,4, 5fold etc from current levels....at some future point in time it will happen as the cash flows / margins are rapidly expanding.
