Fitza good question, 'implications for SSN of a credit downgrade'. If i may I wish to contribute to the discussion as follows:

Yes threads on many other companies are discussing this now, share holders are concerned no doubt about it.

I would say it's representative that those co's are going to have some serious issues now, shareholders are discussing the matter extensively because they know they are now facing a very uncertain future, they have debt, no cash, or a forecast program of works to name a few.

HC is one of many open forums to table ones queries and it clearly demonstrates there are alot of concerned people out there and rightly so. I have holdings in other companies mostly oversea's in EU that i don't post on HC and for those co's i'm one of them.

On the other hand the primary co i hold in AU is SSN and I believe SSN is not in that category hence we are not going on about it on the forums, we are in a distinct different position with our multi $M financial position and locked in program of works over the next 6 months with our $B partners. This will not only see us through the current financial turmoil but grow our company too. That differential we are fortunately in is all credit to our current holdings and company management headed up by TB.

One can go on and on about this, though i will say i'm not trying to convince anyone here, just offering my response to the question raised in FP post.

Bottom line is DYOR, first port of call would be re-read the Quarterly Report including the financials the facts speak for themselves.

As for Monday yes there may be some volatility in the sp, all stocks will experience this though the underlying cash position and fundamentals are not smoke and mirrors.
