Gold stocks are self evidently correlated with the rest of the market. yes I agree with your argument over time I disagree with the buy now or hold strategy. IMO they will disconnect at the bottom of a market collapse. So once the smoke has cleared people will go OMG look at the price of gold stocks and buy into them heavily, this is about the same time the buy and hold gold stocks brigade will have suffered 70-80% losses.

So Im expecting a very quick x2-3 return measured form the bottom of the collapse. Holding now is somewhere between lunacy and delusion.
