I guess our discussion won't be able to have an answer until tomorrow morning. Maybe Dow will finish down anyway once they digest what this all mean, higher interest rates and slower consumer spending. Or it might finish up since people think it all doesn't matter anyway.
I thought the market was optimistic yesterday when the PPI was released but the CPI numbers are more important. I read many thought the core CPI numbers would also be below expectations. But they came in higher. Not a pretty picture.
Also goes to show since the futures dived 50 points after CPI was released. They stayed down until Caterpillar, one single company, saved them all.
