Here is how it stands on uranium - be it clear to every!

The three mines policy ENDED in 1996 when the Federal Labour government was overthrown by the Libs. Although all states are now labour governments, uranium mining IS permitted in the Northern Territory and South Australia, albeit under strict regulation! Meaning Queensland and Western Australia have State bans on uranium mining!

HOWEVER, uranium mining is unique in that it is the only area that can be directly overridden by the FEDERAL govt! Especdially when on the 6th July, the Libs assume a majority in the senate!

If people think the ban in Queensland and Western Australia is going to stick, I would suggest you carefully consider the facts. Australia is currently negotiating a FTA with China. The fact is this - China will not proceed with the FTA IF we do not open up our restrictive mining environment! Coal, gas and oil prices are threatening growth in China and uranium based energy is the cheapest and most price inelastic source!

Make up your own mind! But I can't see the buying opportunities that are around now being around in the medium to long term future.
