Yes, someone will say decimate means elimination of a tenth but is used in a greater sense mostly and I suggest the population will probably be reduced to a tenth at some stage.
Be it plague or war or pestilence, it seems inevitable unless we conquer nature and we don't seem to have advanced much in that regard since mankind evolved.
