Well I beg to differ UT.
I would suggest that those who choose to come here to live would be attracted by the prospect of land being affordable due to the relatively low population and large land mass.
I doubt anyone would go to Japan expecting anything approaching parity with this country and one example is a rather weak basis for any comparisons.
