Thanks for sharing the information. May I ask when did you get that reply from Peter Landau?
Not meaning to put "rain on the parade" but if "Joint Venture" talks have been happening since 31st May 2011 and it not concluded then I can see that the talks are still at most at a preliminary stage. Most likely NKP joint venture talks have only reached a non-binding stage of framework where there are still many terms and conditions to be finalised.
I am glad you got an email from Peter Landau as I have not received any email replies concerning BFS, JV Update, Delays on rumoured "timelines" for the past 10 days. That is why I got fed up and had to call them.
At this stage I feel that the JV is no way anywhere near certain. 31st of till now has been 2.5 months (I am assuming talks began even earlier) and no conclusion in sight usually means its going to drag on. Peter Landau is like a junk car salesman, if your car has rust he will say its "limited hand made edition". I feel that if he felt confident (and truly does) then the wording is going to be much stronger.
To be honest I used to email and call Peter Landau in late 2009 till midway 2010 asking for the BFS with Xstrata and the response was similar "We are working closely with Xstrata and its being optimised for the Joint Venture". As you can see now from hindsight that turned out to be BS. I am hoping history is not an indication o the future this time.
While its nice to see that sort of response but I do feel that its more "dangling the carrot" to investors. I have also noticed a trend with Peter Landau lately that he seems to respond to certain emails. Seems that the ones that ask the hard questions (or push with hard questions) gets ignored. Thought the directors are there to take care of shareholder enquiries, and if he is "so busy... which probably translate into scratching his arse anyway" why can't he get a NKP public relations person to answer them.
Good Luck to all. I have reduced my position a little today to be consistent with my trading pattern but still hold a nice chunk. NKP is a trading stock at best.
