Thanking the MPs for passing the budget, he promised to fast track policy changes sought by the legislators and assured them of quick rollouts of gas and coal projects required to generate power. Speaker Anne Makinda said the public had high expectations that the implementation of the plan would be transparent. She also announced the approval of a probe team to investigate PanAfrica Energy?s gas business.
In his speech, Minister Ngeleja said the firm?s monopoly of the sub-sector was over and a new company, Ndovu Resources, would be allowed to invest in gas infrastructure.
