How can refugees contribute to society when they're locked up on Christmas Island or caged in Malaysia?
How can refugees pay taxes when we lock them up? Refugees are desperate to work and pay their way. They don't want a free ride. They want a home.
To get that home, they will do what your old friend didn't do: Work at two jobs and save to finance their old age. Unlike your friend they don't expect welfare cos where they come from - you work or you stave. Mothers work. Fathers work. Children work. And that's what we're afraid of. They're hard workers while we expect womb to tomb social security and bitterly complain: "How did that Wog get to drive a Mercedes when I have a Corolla?"
Maybe the Wog got two jobs and studied at night - and then started his own business in which he, mum and the kids worked.
Refugees make the very best Australians. Where we see work they see opportunity.
