Are you free to roam on private property and leasehold (with landholder's permission of course) and crown land or are you restricted my mining leases? How do you know what's pegged?
I assume "the triangle" includes Ballarat/Bendigo and that it would be the most prolific area for nuggets in Oz. North Qld fields were alluvial and vein gold I think. Ravenswood and The Palmer spring to mind.
