NSW Police are refusing to investigate Craig Thomson's credit card unless the Health Services Union makes a complaint. But a spokesman for the Commissioner says police would be "happy" to conduct an investigation should the union complain about the use of the credit card to hire prostitutes.
The Daily Telegraph revealed this morning that the Federal Shadow Attorney-General George Brandis is to write to NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione and request an investigation.
But Inspector Brian Hallett has told The Daily Telegraph that the Brandis letter is not sufficient. Inspector Hallett says there must be a "victim" or "complainant".
