Gold took a hit before CME raised margin requirements (subsequent to Shanghai exchange) as it was leaked, most likely on purpose.
Therefore, this price correction, whilst expected at some point, is probably very short-term in nature as gold prices do not in any way rely on over-extended futures speculation to fuel price rises.
My bet is that we'll be back up next week.
