I don't like to talk politics on these forums but it can't be helped here at the BSL posts.
I can't believe there is still a chorus of voices blaming the ALP for all of BSL's woes.

Yesterday BHP presented their final results.
A record profit for an Australian company.

    An EBIT of US$32Billion!!!!
Just BHP mind you, not including all the other miners!
The total for all the miners could well exceed US$100B

Most of which is going to go to oveseas shareholders.

The ALP was going to legitemately tax excess profits (note excess profits only) of these mining giants who are taking "once off" value away from all Australians during the short mining boom.

That same chorus of voices mentioned above, led by "the sky is falling" Tony Abbott, wailed, gnashed teeth and bleated until that idea was stifled.

I wonder how much of that revenue (Multiple Billions) which is now not available to the government, could have been used to help our manufacturing industries and our beloved BSL?

    To all you Aussie bleaters:
You can't have it both ways guys, so palleeease give us a break, and lay off the politics here.
