Wooduk its not about extending the permits - its about what and who determines "substantial work".
If substantial work is deemed to have occurred then the project can continue - if not then the project dies !
But the most important question is - who is it that is charged with determining the answer. It has been said in the media that the Supreme Court may need to determine the answer to this question if so - like many issues it is asked to consider - it will take time.
Just think about the money that all three sides will spend on the services of the top QC's in Australia.
Oh and double that if it goes to the high court !
And many people think that this issue is cut and dried (black & white) its still got a long way to go before it is sorted!
