Another classic denialist lie/untruth/false assumption from Zeds.
"What science did you use to determine the "correct" temperature of the earth? You are saying that its now too warm. What is that based on?"
Within this question is the fallacy that I have somehow determined "the "correct" temperature of the earth". Read my post again. None of the phrases in Zed's assumption are there. Zed's assumption is false.
The phrase I did use was "warming world" and I base the validity of that phrase on the NASA temperature anomaly graphs. I posted a link a few days ago.
Temperatures on Earth range from -50C to +50C (1sf) "Correct" temperature is not defined. The closest scientists might get to "correct" temperatures are laboratory standard temperatures but these are not relevant to this discussion. They are temperatures that can be conveniently attained in laboratories using triple point apparatus or water or water/ice baths.
I used the phrase "warming world" because that is what we observe and predict from the changes we continue making as we burn filthy fossil fuels. The changes in weather patterns arre only predictable in a general sense. We predict more extreme weather such as the current super hurricane that has grounded planes as far as New York.
What might we find if we examined the record of sea surface temperatures where this hurricane spawned? Is that what you mean when you write... "Our best natural level of temperature may well be 4 degrees Higher than now or 3 degrees lower."?
