the issue is that it is difficult to make assumptions about the future numbers with VOC at this point in time. A lot of investment going into dark fibre and data centres ( investing in maintaining a competetive edge) .
RM on his blog made a statement that current numbers mean nothing and its the future that is going to be big , and probably end up being taken over and that spenceley and the rest probably already have a buyer in mind.

for me i am investing in management , Pipe networks comes to mind and VOC may follow a similar path.
Ivanovich is a knowledgable poster and had invested in Pipe ( correct me if i'm wrong)and he may be able to shed light on what he thinks the future holds for VOC.
