It's important to remember though that Force Protection and the MPM contracts are two different and separate things altogether, they come under different contracts, the weapons will have completely different uses in most cases.

From what I understand Force Protection is for the protection of important assets or military bases,it could be used for instance to protect things like, military bases in the US and abroad, nuclear plants, the Pentagon or even airfields etc, the weapons used here with this contract could be operated by civilians, whereas the MPM contract is for weapons that will be used by the military personnel against insurgents who sometimes mingle amongst the civilian population, it is used as a weapon that can go from non lethal to lethal in an instant, but in this case it will always be manned by military personnel as I said.
