I think you will find the high court decision has removed the option of a Pacific solution.

I believe Gillard to be one of our better leaders. I am proud of her determination and courage in spite of the right wing ranting of the naysayers.

I don't agree with all her views and she has made mistakes but the vitriol aimed at her is out of proportion to all of that.

This nonsense about the carbon tax is one such example. Labor was elected under Rudd BECAUSE of its action on climate change. To suggest somehow that those people now oppose a carbon tax is ludicrous. It is those who never believed the facts about climate that pretend it was a lie that are being incredulous.

The funny thing is that of all the people I know, the only ones worth debating are leftists. They have differing views and can even see shades of grey. The right wingers haven't got an original thought in their heads.

Now that doesn't mean that right wingers CAN'T be original and I would be happy to converse with one but have yet to find one.

Right winger discussion goes like this. Cut taxes and lower wages and working conditions and stop welfare. Where is an original thought?

The left is branded with the label "progressive"! Oooh! what a terrible idea. Imagine how bad that is. Abolish slavery, stop children going down mines, give women the vote, allow aboriginals to vote, allow women to work, equal pay for men AND women, where will it stop?

Better to be conservative and stop the clock. If it was good enough for Grandpa its good enough for us.
