We all know the 3% pay rise is not the issue. I am sure AJ would happily give the pilots and engineers 3%. Its all the other conditions that rack up the costs to Qantas.
As for AJ salary, many of you have demonstrated you have selective retention of information which goes someone to explaining some of the illogical debate in this forum when it comes to Qantas. I did say up-front that I am not supporting AJ's pay packet and that we can all complain about it with some justification.
Some of you have difficulty reading - I hope your not Qantas pilots or engineers as that would not bode well for the airline:)
What I pointed out was that AJ's pay packet is immaterial relative to the demands of the pilots and engineers. Ok you can dispute the $317m. Slash it to less than half to $150m - doesnt change the point, slash it further to $50m - doesnt change the point.
AJ's pay packet does seem high but there are much bigger challenges facing Qantas over the next 12 months.
