Hopefully HGO can pinpoint the old mine cavities to minimise disruption to residents and delays in blasting.

    From "Adelaide Now"...

The operators of a copper mine in the Adelaide Hills have been temporarily prohibited from setting off any explosives after a blast rocked homes in Kanmantoo.

Hillgrove Resources, operators of the Kanmantoo copper mine, set off the suspected larger-than-usual blast on August 25, which sent an air pressure wave over the town.

The company notified SafeWork SA and Primary Industries and Resource SA who placed a ban on any more blasting until an investigation was completed.

Hillgrove Resources chief executive Drew Simonsen said their operators drilling holes for blasting are encountering voids or cavities from old mining operations in the area and "if careful attention was not paid when loading explosives for blasting, the holes could be considerably overloaded".

SafeWork SA spokesman Peter Adams said, the agencies are looking into the circumstances of a scheduled blast.
